|
|
I recently purchased a new pc with only Linux Linpus installed.I need to have a version of Windows installed so that I can use my existing hardware and software.
I am unable to do so.I have Linpus installed but Windows will not install.
Any solutions that will work.
Someone gave me a disk to do a low level format. Didn't work I had to use the recovery disk to get Linpus back on.
I think I want to change my Linux operating system to Ubuntu, and I gradually want to eliminate the need for Windows but I need to do it bit by bit and properly.
I assume someone has been in my position and i would be grateful for any advice

You need to install Windows first, and then Linux.
A clue as to the make, model and specification of the PC might help. _________________ The sig between the asterisks is so cool that only REALLY COOL people can even see it!

And a separate hard drive might also be useful.
Enjoy the Choice |

I agree, I wrecked my computer the other day due to over hacking...rofl, so I thought I would install Vista on a spare partition for a poke around...it wouldn't play ball, it has to be installed on a 'primary' partition not a logical or extended otherwise it won't install. It then wouldn't work with my hardware and blue screened every time I logged in within 30 seconds...but thats for another thread.... _________________ My knowledge comes with no warranty...........

What makes you think you need to install Windows to use your existing hardware? Most hardware is supported by Linux. _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |
