First was Ubuntu, and second SuSE. But given the amount of publicity that PCLOS gets (very little), the huge resources behind Ubuntu, and the successful business behind SuSE, PCLOS did well, finishing above Gentoo, Debian, Mandriva, Mepis, etc.
I've been trying a few other distros on my spare partition lately and none of them match PCLOS for ease of installation, use or maintenance. _________________

PCLOS is in the top 10 of discs I sell at the moment. Top being Knoppix 4 DVD. PCLOS is ranked 15 in Distrowatch which is very good. _________________ Andrew Hutchings, Linux Jedi

Well, I'm in Conwy North Wales (as you know Linuxgirlie), my mum is in Warwick (works for the uni in a Linux + Windows environment) and my dad is in Sussex. _________________ Andrew Hutchings, Linux Jedi

I'm closing in on you, A-Wing, my wife and I will be leaving home early on 17th, picking up my bruv, dropping him off at his girlfriend's in Ellesmere (we've never met her so it's an opportunity), then continuing our journey up to Dinas Dinlle in the afternoon.
So is your User Group meeting in the second half of September?
BTW I'm not surprised that PCLOS is in your Top Ten. Despite its lack of any real publicity (on paper at least), the number of new visitors at its website seems to be increasing exponentially at the moment, some with small problems, many just gushing praise. Others are experienced Linuxers who have identified it as a good way of getting new converts, and have joined in the Problem Page replies.
Even people whose locations are non-English speaking countries, who seem to struggle with English a little, are using it above multilingual distros. Now that really is praise! _________________

To be honest I have no idea when the next meet is, I can't go to any at the moment due to my kids, running LinuxISO, sorting mortgage and stuff. I said to the members that they should figure out what they want for the next meet and I will put up details on the site. All I know is it is going to be in Bangor.
PCLOS is very good from the little I have used it. Its not for me but I can see where it gets its following.
The welsh language has its own distro, run by our neighbouring LUG (Menai) and assembled by Kevin Donnally. The distro is called Cymrux. We are going to mirror the next version at Netserve. _________________ Andrew Hutchings, Linux Jedi

Yeah, I've heard of Cymrux. One thing about it has always bothered me though:
If a string contains "ll", "dd", "ff", "ch", or "th", does it count as one letter or two? And why don't they call it Cymrycs?
I'd better keep my head down when I get there, someone's gonna kill me for that! _________________

My wife (who is welsh) says they should be counted as 1 letter. Also the Welsh language doesn't have an 'x' so you are probably right about the second point. _________________ Andrew Hutchings, Linux Jedi

The Welsh language doesn't have a 'j' or a 'v' either. I was discussing that with Mr Jones and Mr Evans... _________________

There is a 'j', but it isn't a very commonly used letter. There isn't a 'v' though. My wife thinks it used to be Efans but the snotty English (her words, not mine) changed it to a 'v' when they took over. _________________ Andrew Hutchings, Linux Jedi

Then how come the welsh dictionary has around 10 words starting with 'j'? _________________ Andrew Hutchings, Linux Jedi
