As nearly every Distro with a GUI has a Run as dialogue, even the GUI has prior art.

It's just that Microsoft didn't have this feature widely enabled until Vista, when they really started to push the "Administrator" and "Restricted" user levels. Groklaw, and the thread posts, show "sudo" and "runas", the command Microsoft chose, both have well over 20 years "prior art".
Patents should not be permitted on software, intellectual property is protected by copyright on the source code. |

First they deem Linux as a threat then they contribute code and now this, just because they contributed a bit of code doesn't mean they can go round nabbing everyone else's ideas and creations. |

| This has been around for some time and there was an article pointing out that MS' patent doesn't affect sudo but might affect PolicyKit depending on how it was interpreted. |
