|
|
Okay i have had two bsod's from windows xp sp2, memory_management and pfn_corrupt_list, now i have tried everything, safe mode, reboot, reset bios, clean pc, clean ram slots, re insert memory modules, but to no avail,
I have ran memory test no problems , my Ubuntu works, everything apart from windows I think its a driver issue, but i can't correct this as i cannot access safe mode, my only option left is to reinstall xp sp2, but i hope i don't have to, although its looking like the only solution, any other suggestions? to help sort out this problem
Thanks in advance |

Well, if Linux works, not a Linux or hardware issue, so just Windows.
You would probably do better posting this on a Windows forum.

Upgrade to SP3, that is the only version supported by Microsoft now. |

What?
Contiuously tapping F8 from coldboot does not bring up
the Windows selection screen in Video Mode 3?
Have you got the 6 floppy disc repair set and a floppy
drive internal or external? _________________ 73...

Let me clear things up i could select safe mode but i just got a BSOD when loading, and i tried to repair windows major fail, got errors when i booted in windows, so i just did a fresh install
And with vista i just can't be bothered updating 24/7 in win 7 updating is managed better, and with me having built my PC, there are hardware issues left, right and center, but in 7 there isn't as many if none, most of the time |

Can you use the recovery console via CD. If so try a chkdsk /f
when trying safe mode what is the last driver listed before the BSOD? or What is the first part of the BSOD msg? _________________
