Freely refillable inkjet printer

Postby kvonh » Fri Nov 12, 2010 10:24 am

Does anyone know of a home-use inkjet printer that has ink reservoirs that may be refilled at will, and that does not require me to buy exorbitantly priced cartridges?

I understand the "business model" - that the printers are sold cheap, and the profits made on the cartridges. I am happy to pay a little more for the printer if I could then refill at a sensible price.

Of course I need linux drivers/compatibility, and if it happens to be an all-in-one (scanner/fax/copy) then so much the better.

Any info would be most gratefully received!

You might like to think about using a continuous ink supply system such as http://www.continuous-ink-systems.co.uk/

I've just got one of those for my Epson P50, and as soon as the current cartridges run out I'll be installing it.
