After the BBC killed off two decent 3rd party Android iPlayer clients (BeebPlayer and MyPlayer), they have released their own effort.

It hasn't, exactly, met with widespread acclaim:

There were plenty when I looked last night. I tried it myself and was trmendously unwhelmed by it. As so many have said, what's the point of iPlayer on a mobile device that only works over WiFi?

Freedom of speech is fine, it's freedom of development that is curtailed. Two decent 3rd party apps were blocked so the BBC could release this rubbish. The comments were right.
