And the dvd drive is in an empty box????
It would just work if you told us which distro you are using and what codecs you have installed _________________ still looking for that door into summer |

I believe what you need is called "libdvdcss2" from the medibuntu repository.
I'm not sure of the standard method for getting this. What I do is install Ubuntu Tweak (google it). It has a ton of features I use, so it makes sense to use that since it's easy.
Once installed you can find it in Applications > System Tools.
Click on the source centre, unlock and update it. There should be an option to add the medibuntu repository then.
After that, libdvdcss2 will be in your Synaptic Package Manager (System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager).
If it's not already installed, search for it and add it there. After that, DVDs should be no problem. |

If you followed my previous instructions for installing the flash plugin:
http://www.linuxformat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13391
Then the "universe" and "multiverse" repositories will already be enabled, so...
Open a terminal and enter:
| Code: | sudo apt-get install libdvdread4
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh |
Hitting enter after each line, and your password when asked.
That will install libdvdcss2 for you. _________________ WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root'... logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.

For part one, look to the title of the topic, otherwise, well quite.
Of course, you also need a media player, Xine is my preference for DVDs. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |
