So far it seems to be working: I stay logged in, even after a reboot.
I concur with Roseway: get rid of the ads, any ads. I'd suggest adopting the LQ model, where payed subscribers don't get the ads. In this case, if you subscribed to LXF: no ads, otherwise insert the ads. Shouldn't be too difficult to link ones sub-number to a profile. |

Adblock Plus blocking *.doubleclick.net and *.ru (not many hits anymore) and I see a big pale blue blok above the LXF logo and to the right (on my Eee PC 701 800x480). I don't mind adds but the crap from DoubleClick is just annoying. |

Any one notice that unread topics are getting marked read before you've looked at them.
I.E. I was reading some of the programming topic's, refreshed the window to see which one's I had not read, all appeared to have been read.
Went back to the board index and all other topic where also read, I.E. Help, Hardware etc.
I noticed this a long time ago, still happens on the new forum/site. Which looks cool btw.
This is the only board I have this issue... could it be a bug in phpbb2 ? _________________

Mike,
I see you're dealing with the dodgy links in the spammers' user profiles, there's only one there right now, there were quite a few late last night. The PCPlus forum's user profiles used to be awash with these, though it looks like someone has been cleaning up there lately too.
Edit: and now it's gone _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

| Where has the rss feed for the forum gone? I had a link to it on my firefox bookmarks bar, and now it is no good, of course, but I can't find a new feed for it. Will that come back soon or has it gone for good? |

Rhakios: Yep, after we relaunched we had a few spambots sign up, but I've put extra measures in place to prevent that now. No spam overnight!
ajgreeny: I'll see if I can add it back. We're listening to all suggestions, and next week (after I've finished the LXFDVD) I'll add some more bits 'n bobs.

Congratulations for the new site and forum, nice job! The site is cleaner, faster and much more pleasant to browse. I really like it.
Now tell the LXF delivery service to do the same. Faster deliveries of your magazine and you'll be Nr ONE and best linux mag ever!

This forum has a big blank grey area above and to the right of it. This is mildly annoying, though surely not as bad as the stuff that adblockplus, noscript and flashblock must be saving me from.
I do miss the main navbar from the LXF home page. Why not include that, at least? There is no one-click route back to the rest of the site, once I am done on the forums.
Oh, and as Towy asked, where's the wiki gone? _________________ Cheers,

It seems that LXF have updated to a newer version Drupal earlier today and the website was down for a few hours I hope the upgrade wasn't too stressful Mike |
