Make completely sure that I killed any and all opponents at the first opportunity, instead of leaving them dangling over some lava pool from which they are likely to escape. A bullet between the eyes should suffice in most cases.

Edit: and what do you mean, "if"?

Having an underground lair and a menacing name like SPECTRE is also a bit of a giveaway. Standard offices and an innocuous name like, ooh, say Microsoft, is far less likely to get you noticed until too late.

I'd make Poundland adjust/lower their prices in-line with the VAT decrease, they're making a mint out us...

Quietly dispose of the dregs of society - murderers, rapists, traffic wardens and worse. That'd free up the prisons for the politicians, dissenters, and people who leave dog poo on the paths!

Get a safe deposit box in a fake name and put a dead fish in it. Leave and never come back.
