Hi all,

My problem is this; Lexmark, in all their wisdom, have decided that it takes effort to produce drivers for the Lexmark Z54 on Linux, so have done nothing. Unfortunatly, I already own a Lexmark Z54 printer, so am rather stuck. I know that you can use the Z43 driver, but that isn't good enough quality for what I need it for. My query is whether it is possible to put printer drivers through wine much like Ndis does for Wireless. Please help me, in your mercy!

I want to know if it is possible to use wine to run the Linux printer via a windows driver.

Never mind: I have gone to buying a new printer

The HP Deskjet 6540 supports linux fully, so I have gone for that. It is also a nice price Wink

Ok, your solution seems to be genial, but I don't have enough cash for a new printer.
I've just migrated from win xp to Mandriva 2005.
I am using (currently NOT using) lexmark x1170 , and don't know if the windows drivers will work with wine. Will they?
Please help me:)

Have you tried it with the gimp-print Z43 driver, this is claimed to give maximum resolution.
