What adverts?
No wonder Konqueror is soooooo fast.
Did anyone read the story of the chap that broke the X Box security chip? Not sure how it would affect anyone but it was interesting that a man would spend so much time on what had to amount to an hobby.

I'm a KDE fan, but there's no way I'd describe Konqueror as fast, Chromium is so much quicker, especially on lower powered hardware or with lots of tabs.

Have you tried IE8 lately? It's almost unbelievably slow in my Windows7 VM, which isn't down to it being a VM as Firefox, Chrome and Opera perform just fine.

No, I haven't tried it, but even if I had, I wouldn't use a part of Windows as a standard for benchmarking

Neither would I. The point was merely that to an IE user, Konqueror might well seem zippy. <insert shrugging smiley>
