| There is an error in your article on page 33. The openSUSE live CD does NOT need 1GB of RAM. I have a six year old Athlon XP machine with 512 MB RAM of which some is used for graphics. I downloaded the 11.2 RC2 32 bit KDE live CD. The live CD ran well and I later installed from the live CD and had no trouble at all doing so. |

It isn't an error in that the message is now part of the 11.2 installer but it is misleading.
I got a Live CD to install, albeit with difficulty, on a machine with 256Mb of RAM after it asked if it could use the swap partition.
I've increased the RAM to 768Mb and more recent Live CDs have installed fine.
I suspect the 1Gb warning is more for those who want to use the Live CD for more than a few minutes to check that it will install. |
