Feds want backdoors built into VoIP and email

Postby kamrananvaar » Sat Oct 02, 2010 3:57 pm

Reminds me of when the US prohibited more than 48bit security and the development of 128bit simply migrated to Germany.

This is on the back of demands from various Middle Eastern countries, India and other Asian countries for access to data transmitted using Blackberries.

Time for open source to show that there are no security issues or back doors in their software.

Backdoors that can be used by feds are backdoors that can be used by anyone. Definitely not a good idea. And certainly not in keeping with the alleged American values of Liberty.

Those values only apply if you're a US citizen and don't say anything against "current US policy" - it's not for the rest of the world. If you're from anywhere else you're a "terrorist or conducting espionage against the US".
