The article isn't to clear on why, but it could be the film and recording industry tax they put on stuff to compensate those 'poor' industries that have lost so much money to pirated music and movies. For some reason windows users don't do this though
Something similar is going through parliament in Finland too except it's going to be on anything that can store a file, ie. compact flash storage, phones, mp3 players, hard drives etc... We've already had our recordable CDs and DVDs taxed for years (apparently that's not enough now). _________________ I codes here: http://notsure.tk |

From what I've read, it really makes no sense whatsoever.
On a Windows tablet you can run any of a billion Windows programs, and therefore easily pirate and transcode and share to your heart's content.
On an Android tablet such antics appear more difficult, and perhaps impossible on an iPad, so why Windows gets a let-off is anyone's guess...

You know what, with all the WikiLeaks stories going on lately, I'm surprised I haven't heard of any shady dealings between MS and the world's governments yet. _________________ I codes here: http://notsure.tk |

Hey, hang on. Windows 7 is exempt because it is neither mobile-specific nor a clean build. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Android technically still a Linux distro, and Linux is neither mobile-only nor clean? That must make Android exempt, too.
Personally, I think this is all a jealous plot against iP[insert syllable of choice]s because they are just too shiny not to be made in Paris. _________________ Cheers,
