Hi all.

My flatmate uses Mint 9.04/10 and wants desperatley to play Planetoid (or an equivalent,
Defender/Galaxians. Yep he's rocking it Old School).

However the games selection ins Mint is a little limited.
So can I add the Ubuntu (game)-repos to Mint in order for him to
get a couple of more games to download?

If-so

1. How do I do this
2. Will they have to be specific/comparable to the Ubuntu version
(E.G. Mint 9.10 = Ubuntu 9.10?)

Thanks in advancefor any help.

Erm there is no such thing as Mint 9.04 or 9.10

Mint 8 is based on Ubuntu 9.10
Mint 9 is based on Ubuntu 10.04
Mint 10 is based on Ubuntu 10.10

and as far as I'm aware, Mint already uses the Ubuntu repositories.

But yes, Ubuntu PPA's can be added to Mint, if that's the question.

Though I think add-apt-repository is disabled by default in Mint, so you will have to add the PPA to your sources.list manually, using the correct /maverick /lucid etc. at the end.

so for Mint 9, you'd set the distribution as lucid

Try PlayDeb - http://www.playdeb.net/updates/Ubuntu/9.10/

As it says "Click here to learn how to install games from PlayDeb"
