Hi guys,

If you know Harold Camping, then you know that May 21 was supposedly a big day and now, it will be on OCtober 21.

Try to google about him and let's all talk about him. The last time there was a big fuss about these kinds of things was last 2000 when the y2k bug was feared.

Thoughts?

Carol Midgley made a very funny comment about him in The Times a few days ago. She suggested that for the rest of his life, wherever he goes, some joker is bound to come up, slap him on the back, and say "Cheer up Harold, it's not the end of the world. " Very Happy

Whenever a religious nutter asks me for my thoughts on the prediction, I say "ask my views on the 22nd of october". If the rapture happens, you'll be gone. If it doesn't, I can laugh at you. Laughing

Anyway as everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon:

I don't have a problem with Harold Camping, he's either seriously deluded or mentally ill and we should treat him sympathetically as we would with someone claiming to be Napoleon Bonaparte or Julius Caesar. The people I have a problem with are all the suckers who bought into his delusion and threw away their life's savings on advertising campaigns etc. - but then again at least that money has probably gone to someone with at least a minimal grasp on reality.

He's not the first nutter to predict the end of the world and he won't be the last, statistically one of these days one of them will hit the jackpot and will be smiling when they go up in flames with the rest of us.

I don't have a problem with the sell your stuff brigade. If someone thinks the rapture is coming and wants to sell me their house for £50, I'll buy it. As long as they are prepared to pay the £150K their house is worth after the rapture fails to appear. Twisted Evil
