Windows - it's aimed at stealing banking data; so unless you do Internet banking with Windows, it won't affect you.

My wife uses Vista. She logged into my paypal account last week from her PC. Is there an easy way to check her PC to see if I have a problem? Sounds like it's bypassing most protection if they're only just picking up on it... Confused

You can try TROJAN REMOVER from SIMPLYSUP, make google search for a trial version. But I am not sure whether it works with Vista, may be Windows Defender!

According to the BBC, people who have been affected have been told and it should be picked up by spyware checkers as it is well-documented.

"Should be picked up" - if people actually have anti-malware software installed and have kept it up to date.

This depressing slashdot item:

But which cheered me up, nonetheless, with this contribution:

That's a brilliant post Smile Slashdot's stories have been pretty poor the last few years, and often all-out incorrect, but some of the comments still shine.

I love it! The funniest post on Slashdot for years Laughing

On the serious side, if you get any Windows computers with malware (or suspected malware) use Malwarebytes in safe mode to get rid of everything. It's the best thing I've found for getting rid of malware from Windows.
