Hi, new to Linux Format & DVD insert. I've tried to access games and distro's on the disc but not having any luck. How do you go about previewing various software on the disc ? Every time I try to run a program up comes brasero which wants to install it to a cd. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bruce |

Hi,
Which issue and which distros/software? Most distros are bootable (ie you start your PC from them), whereas some are ISO images which require burning to disc. It explains all this in the index.html file.
Also see Help/New to Linux for a guide to installing software.

Issue #146.
So if I understand u correctly, I would have to load progarms (ex. games) onto my HD then burn them to disk to try them out ?
I get the distro thing, I would just restart my computer then select CD as boot then run distro from there.
But anything else on the disk would have to be installed in order to run, you can't run them from the DVD. |

Please read the Help/New to Linux section on the disc -- it explains all this. It has sections on distros, installing software from in various different formats etc.
