Hi Marrea...
Would "satting" be more appropriate... ;oD
Maybe John Kieraldo's native tongue is NOT English... ;o) _________________ 73...

Indeed!
Of course I blame our esteemed Editor - swanning off to Portland with Mike when he should have been sat at his desk in Bath busily poring over the proofs. |

You're worse than my 'Im indoors. He loves winding me up by saying "I'm sat sitting here"!

Surely it is only the English who misuse sat? |

Is it not a photograth and as such a snapshot of time, the past. _________________

| Mind you, sat is small beer compared to probably the most common assault upon the English language perpetrated by our beloved LXF scribes (and they are beloved). Namely, the use of the word "install" as a noun. Please, pretty please, I'll-bake-you-something-nice please, the noun is "installation". Phew. |

Maybe, but if you're going to follow that logic you'll need to be consistent. "The thing next to my mouse is ... " will have to be changed to "The thing next to my mouse was ... " |

You want our beloved LXF scribes to use the noun "installation"? Now that is a big ask!! |

Sat, and sat - a good pair of examples, Brian, where it really is correct (unlike the start of this thread). _________________ Derek |
