Linus' thesis

Postby Dutch_Master » Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:04 am

Always wondered what things Linux Linus Torvalds would write about? Here's his 1997(ish) thesis, or at least a very close copy of it, generated from the original sources:
ftp://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/linux/kern ... ds/thesis/

Read the README file first!

Have fun!

A good example of synergy - he'd been asked by DEC to port Linux to the DEC Alpha and took the opportunity to make the kernel portable to any chip. Why not use the experience to write a thesis at the same time?

Perhaps we should thank DEC for turning a hobbyist's project into a world beater.
