|
|
Hi all. I am trying to get Skype working on a Fed 12 box using a "Creative LiveCam Chat HD" as the sound and vision source. Video is no problem but in order to get the microphone working I have to bring up the mixer applet, and enable capture on the VF0700 Live Cam Chat section that has been added. Skype then works OK. The problem is that when I reboot the enable tick has gone. I have tried issuing an "alsactl store" instruction as su but this makes no difference. Any suggestions welcome

Further information in case it helps!
"etc/asound.state" seems to have a section at the end headed 'state.HD'. Only two controls are showm. Control.1 ends with :-
name 'Mic Capture Switch'
value true
This is if the capture is enabled, value goes to false when capture is not enabled.
Control.2 is the gain setting for the mic.
When machine reboots the setting for mic capture is reset to false from somewhere. Any ideas where?
