Thanks for sharing However, in the section on connecting the RPi to a serial port, you assume the USB converter to be ttyUSB0. That may not always be the case, perhaps you could amend the entry to add a notice-with-solution if the user fails to connect. |

You're welcome
Serial USB converters have never been any different on a Fedora machine in my experience since FC6 or so (and the post is written for a Fedora host). There's a possibility that a program could fail, holding ttyUSB0 and on a re-plug the device would get ttyUSB1 assigned to it, but that's quite unlikely.
Have you had a different experience with a USB serial device on Fedora? |

No, but that's because I don't use Fedora (Debian user here ) Neither do I have a serial<->USB converter...  |

About 5 weeks away, what, I could swim the Atlantic in that time...
Anyhow thanks for the pointer and no doubt I will use it...
As for /dev/ttyUSBx easy-peasy to solve... _________________ 73...
