......I up-graded from 11.10 ubuntu. I think network worked a few times after up-grade. Now I cannot connect it says "network not connected". Also I do not have an option to use "auto connect" in my drop down menu under the network tab. I had that option before up-grade.
. Very limited experience with ubuntu.........yes another "newbie".. |

Is Ubuntu using Network Manger (probably) or WICD?
Do you have an internet icon on your desktop or is the menu system the only place where you can look at your connection settings?
You could also try entering
in a terminal. That might give you a clue.
It could be something as simple as the DNS not being entered.
Or, if it cannot auto-connect, DHCP may be disabled. _________________ Debian Stable
