|
|
Hello, I use HP DESKJET 930c Printer on Ubuntu 12.04. Something wrong with my printer because the black printing comes out blurred and I have cleaned the print cartridges also installed in a new HP 45 Black ink but it is still the same. I have checked, there is no paper jam. Please advise how to rectify this. Thank you. Narendra. _________________ Narendra |

Is it still blurred when you print a test page using the printer's controls (not from the computer)? If so, it's a hardware fault and needs to be returned if under warranty and replaced or repaired otherwise. _________________ Unix is user-friendly. I was going to suggest that but looking at the manuals there are references to DOS / Win 3.1 / Win 95 & 98 & NT so it appears to be an old printer without the facility to do a test print from the control panel.
If memory serves the print heads are part of the replacement ink cartridge so may just need the 'head aligning'
If you are using the HPLIP Driver then that option is under actions. _________________

Thank you very much for your replies.
Yes, this is an old printer, been using it since 2001!
I think its worn out.
The test page is blurred and also some documents that I have been printing.
May be it can be repaired! _________________ Narendra |

I seriously doubt it would be economical to do that as you can buy a new printer/copier/scanner for ~£30-40 these days. _________________ I have been touched by his noodly appendage. |

Have you tried aligning the printer heads. _________________

| I'm like you - still driving a 930c and dreading the day it finally gives up the ghost! I'll take the cartridges off you for a consideration, if you like? Best continue off list if you wish : charles-(at)-mcevoy-(dot)-com |

I occasionally use mine.
I didn't know it was that old! 2001 and you can still get cartridges. _________________ Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS! |

I bought some compatible cartridges, some time ago.
If you need that I can send them to you.
