Liverpool Linux User Group Meeting - Weds Feb 6th 2013

Postby nelz » Wed Jan 30, 2013 3:37 pm

The next LivLUG meeting will take place next Wednesday, February 6th, reverting to our usual first Wednesday of the month slot.

Our guest speaker this month is Roger Whitaker, Technical support Engineer at SUSE. The main topics of his talk will be

- new(ish) features in openSUSE and SLES

- particularly btrfs and snapper

- general update on SUSE / openSUSE, but nothing sales/marketing-y

Doors open at 7pm and the talk will start at around 7:30.

After the talk we will move on to a local hostelry, probably the Shipping Forecast for further discussions , arguments and comparison of movie references :)

If you haven't been to a LivLUG meeting before, this might be a good one to start with - we don't bite, a friendly welcome is assured.

We'll meet at the usual venue, the Liverpool Social Centre. Ring the bell marked basement and someone will let you in. I've included the address and a map link below:

Next to Nowhere,
Basement, 96 Bold Street,
Liverpool,

Would love to attend but it a bit to far for me to travel.

AFAIK my closest LUG is about a 100 mile round trip.

lubuntu LXDE 13.10 running on AMD Phenom II*4; ASUS Crosshair III Formula MB; 4 GB Ram.....
