Hello.

I wish to do some testing with OpenVPN on the LAN.

10.20.30.40 (Client) ------> 10.20.30.50 (Server)

Questions;
1. Is the only way via bridging, not routing ?
2. If this is possible, can the VPN be accessed from the outside

Thank you.

Hello,

1. Bridging seems to be the favourite option.

2. Yes, you can use dyndns or similar so that you can access from outside..

That's the short answer(s). I've only recently tried openVPN myself so learning about it. If you try to access from the same subnet I believe that can cause a problem so better to test from VBox or similar or from outside ( by outside I take it you mean " WWW " access..

Cheers Razz

scooter...
I'm not clear on your coments... have you sucessfully used Openvpn on the same subnet ?

i.e. Client 10.20.30.40 <----> Server 10.20.30.50

The 'problem' you refer to, do you mean you are not sure if one can use Openvpn on the same subnet, and access from 'outside' as well ?

Thank you.
