How do I change the keymap so the @ # etc are the mapped to

How do I change the keymap so the @ # etc are the mapped to the right keys ie not shift 2/3 etc. Am running Ubuntu 14.4 LTS Xfce 4.1o on the Chromebook using Crouton chroot.

Sorted: Settings, Keyboard, then untick Use system defaults it off default in the Layout tab.
