Satellite PCI card - Kworld

Postby FranBlakes » Fri Oct 11, 2013 8:45 am

The other day I saw a PCI DVB-S 100 (Kworld) satellite card for less than £20.

I was wondering does this work "straight out of the box" with Ubuntu 12.04 64bit?

If so which tuner program is recommended?

Thanks in advance!

It's not listed at http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hardw ... nformation but KWorld stuff is pretty generic in my experience. I use one of their DVB-T cards with MythTV and have used a DVB-T USB stick of their in the past.

If you can get the full model number, a web search should show the chipset it uses.

If they still have it (It was in “clearance”):

I might buy it, if it doesn't work:-
might try and install using WINE
and if that fails I could install in Windows XP in VirtualBox.
