Oh dear, my Debian setup has failed.

Drive is OK, works in anither machine. HP notebook it runs on
has a major HW failure...

Just switched from Mint with Cinnamon to LXDE.

Could be I spent my time on Mint learning the basics but LXDE just feels easier.

Definitely feels more responsive.

I'm using openSUSE 12.3 with GNOME 3 at the moment. Have been using openSUSE since april 2012 and I like it. But most of all I like GNOME 3, I guess.

In my most best honoured profession I suggest chose Fedora over Suse. Sorry.
