Hi,
As an initial stab at some Linux based web development I have created a website called Tip Top Ideas at http://www.tiptopideas.co.uk and would appreciate your comments.
The site was developed on Ubuntu 5.04 in PHP4 with a MySQL4 database (my host only support v4 of each). I have tried to use CSS layouts which has been an education but ultimately rewarding. I have found Quanta to be a very usable development environment for PHP.
As a programmer design isn't my strong point but hopefully I have produced something that is functional yet reasonably pleasing to the eye. Any feedback is appreciated.
Cheers. |

Chimp, that is a very well-done site with a clean and functional design; the colours are a good balance, too.
Have you thought about adding a comment feature for others to make comments on ideas?

Nice! Here's a Top Tip: two rubber bands, tied together, make an ideal 'bungee' rope for hamsters.

Many thanks for your comments folks. Good to hear it sounds like I'm on the right track. Oh and if anyone wants to do me a favour and bookmark the site on del.icio.us then please feel free...
Mike/Alloydog - thanks for the tips. I think I'll save these for my next site which coincidentally is named www.bungeeforhamsters.com

Nice site. Had a good laugh at some of bonkers tips.
It doesn't render properly in Konqueror though, the Home Login/Register Browse section is messed up. I don't know if this is your fault or Konqueror's. (version 3.4.2). It looks fine in Firefox. |
