Trying to increase the bnp's google score, or just ignorant of where political leanings are relevant? _________________ OpenSUSE 10.2, WinXPHome

A Can Of Worms .... Reminds me of a similar thread on this which died out. I think there's a 'loop hole' involved in the implication of restricting urls in that respect.
Damn precedents , we gotta have them, but they can also present their own problems.
Who is to say that a url under a user name or sign off signature isn't part of that name, based on usage and proximity.
The great social debates ... maybe it will actually get some where one day
Edit: (1) spell

There isn't a problem, but some people that don't like the name are doing their best to draw attention to it by repeatedly posting about it _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

Unfortunately you have to accept this as part of the freedoms (diminishing) of our society.
That people replied to the posts of this user is another matter though. |

Although that user hasn't been around for a while, all of his posts were on-topic and apolitical AFAIR. _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

True,
But wasn't the point, the use of the url as a user name. In that it pointed to a group associated with extremist political activities. And so gave a portal to those ideas. With the balancing point that any url used, either as part of a name or a sig does a similar thing. In that it points to a site that will likely be themed along some idea set. Which leads into the debate of personal rights, freedom and such, ... That was my meaning at least by 'A can of worms'.
Ignoring issues don't make them go away and as RMS says ... geeks may think they can ignore politics, but politics wont ignore them ....
Wouldn't be surprised if that was quoted incorrect, but something like that.

It's not that extreme. it's not as though he was using something really dangerous (not to mention un-American) like www.fsf.org _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |
