idd, running apache from a standard user account, can cause severe security issues...
I suggest running apache with the apache user, and fix permissions for this users instead of running apache with a standard user

Different distros run Apache as different users & groups:
Suse - wwwrun:www
Red Hat - apache:apache
Others - apche:nobody or nobody"nobody

There are others, and you can change this if you want, the joys of Linux. 8)
