Well done! You got it in one. Is this a sign of cognitive improvements? One can only hope.

-=- bit flips -=-
(or should that be flippers ?)
Rules are to often used to hide behind, depending on how an interest decides to interpretation them. Pollies and big business groups can turn it into quite an artform.
I think when a rule is interpreted in a static form, with out any flexibility, then the 'rule' has largely failed. Of course this is all to degrees. Walking into someones home and rifling the fridge because their a little peckish would tend to be considered taking the disregard of property rules a bit far.

I've just read the rules for off-topic and it says we should get anyone riled, well that just riles me.

Yes, ... thats how a rule should be seen.
Some people can be more sensitive than others though. So some sought of self toning/regulation probably wouldn't hurt. I would guess most people have seen the situation were a simple light hearted exchange has quickly exploded into a major conflict. Even amongst people who know each other very well.
So i guess it depends on the feed back thats perceived. Some people i know over this way, a person can pretty well say anything to them and it will be taken well. Others, iv'e learnt to keep my trap firmly shut with. The later ones are a real pain in the butt to be around.
As for the 'fish', i don't think anybody should be getting to serious there. He/she/it is certainly a stayer with Linux. And it can't be easy having to search around for water prof hw all the time, especially considering the effects of salt. Unless we have the freshwater variety that is. Just getting the fins to find the right keys, well, mostly, is an achievement in itself really.

the fish does not use linux cos he can't figure out how to, he keeps looking for .exe files and gets confused when he can't find them.
He is also of the freshwater variety, typically a muddy pool where he worships the great windoze god Bill big bucks Gates _________________ still looking for that door into summer |

You can try. There's nothing in the rules against offering things for sale in a non-commercial way, or even making people aware of any commercial interests which are Linux related.
However, if you are offering the latest mobile phones for $$$$CHEAP, then you might get a different reaction. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |
