Yes I remember Toy Story, and had a megadrive at the time. It was only in 1998 when I got a PC, and 2000 for linux
Right... I'll need a netinst ISO, VMWare, and some time! _________________

Or a vendor supplied dvd/cd set, in various forms ...

I have heard it mentioned that the longish release cycle for Etch, as academic as it really is ... did tend to give ubunto a bit of a push in the popularity stakes. Which does sound like a quite possible perceptile side effect of it all

hmmmm, now there's an idea ,
Two double sided dvds !!!. As it is a special occasion. Notice that apt will now update the package file based on changes only, rather than replacing the whole file, ala rsync style.

No, of course not! I was just joking, LXF is my favourite PCPlus' glossy and card adverts, and dozens of leaflets stuck in every 10 pages put me right off it. _________________

Don't be so quick there, thin isn't necessarily better. As is true for thicker as well, It all depends ...
I don't mind the adds as such. But would prefer Linux based ones. And it should also flows on to the purchaser. I'm not a great fan of trivial inserts though. A person can always just skip through the advertising, trying to avoid the subliminal branding input via company logos of course. Sounds easy, doesn't it And as long as it doesn't infringe on the content and just turn into an orgy of znet trash.
Besides, the extra padding has the side effect of greater disc protection !

Here's an idea...
When an advertiser wants to include a loose insert, or a wodge of pages in the middle of an article, let them do it on condition that they pay for proper DVD cases for that issue - heck, they can even put their logo on the case... "DVD cases sponsored by Dell" anyone ? |

LOL
I'd rather see "Linux Onboard, brought to you by Dell" |
