This is going to be a rant..
But ever since Virgin Media took over NTL my internet has been more slower then KDE 3.4 on a 486 Computer. i have done a ping and i get dropped packets... its realy annoying beause i download a fair bit esp linux distros and cos i use gentoo it affects it when i try to "emerge -uD world"
i was wondering if any other VM customers are having problems or its just me. _________________ My Websites.

It isn't just you
I'm thankful that I don't have them but I have several friends that suffer

I cured all my problems with Virgin with a single phone call. OK, it lasted almost 40 minutes and had long periods of godawful muzak interspersed with having the same argument with a different person, but I finally got my account cancelled. _________________ Unix is user-friendly. I'm ex NTL, now VM I can't say I've noticed any difference on the Broadband, only on 2Meg but every time I've done an online speed check I've been getting close enough. Have been having problems with the TV signal though, and they've been a wast of space as far as that's concerned. _________________ I have been touched by his noodly appendage. |

I'm on 4 meg and getting that for downloads but apprently 10meg users are having some problems with the current network upgrades to 20 meg and them been updated to 20 meg connection.....
One thing that could be causing issues is if you NIC does not support duplexing or if it's not turned on to full duplex it can cause problem with faster connections. Check out the virginmedia.dissussions.boardband or v.d.feedback newsgroups, someone as posted about this in there about 5 days ago. _________________
