So new in fact, it hasn't made it onto the news page from Slackware.com

Hello 2.6, yes, really, a 2.6 kernel. Which means Linus will be releasing 2.7/2.8 series soon.

Honestly, who cared it was 2.4 previously, when sticking on your own specific kernel is so easy. Well, plenty of people apparently, notably some LXF writers. We'll you moaning pampered gits, here it is, and it ain't half bad.

Thankfully there is still no psycho dependency based package manager, phew!
