We've noticed that too*. But Future Publishing is more then just LXF and they sell the advertisement space on their forums to 3rd parties, who in turn do business with anyone who pays. No use complaining, unless you've decided to actually buy that ad-space. In which case the LXF team will undoubtably be gratefull for the finances that pay their saleries and may even help you getting in contact with the aforementioned 3rd parties
*as in: the users of this forum. Note I'm _not_ affiliated with either LXF nor FP! |

I wish I had the money to take out a Linux ad on a forum for Windows users, just to see if it elicited any reaction at all. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

The ability to read is one thing. Understanding what's been written is an art in itself and you haven't mastered that, didn't you |

Sometimes, the adverts you see will be based on your cookie contents. A few months ago, Op Ed Rebecca started seeing haircare adverts on the LXF website, even though the rest of us never got them. (Well, except for Graham, inexplicably.) It may well be down to other adverts you've seen, and on which sites you've seen them. You could try removing doubleclick.net cookie(s) and see what happens.

It may well be down to other adverts youM$ is a huge buyer of advertising space; if you wish to avoid it, better leave for Mars. I have been reading LXF for longer than I can remember, and I hope you can garner up even more of that M$ graft money and keep a great rag going. I find it strange that as a rare and long time gnu/linux user, I have to wait each month for the mag to appear in the local newsstand, and that it also comes from another firmly entrenched M$ country(oddly enough, I was born over there in your London). I have been involved in computing since long before the birth of M$, and the editorial content is what keeps me waiting each month for my fav-rag. Long live M$, may pay it ever more!

These just popped into my head from left field:
1. Is the ad space paid for per impression/view?
2. Is there a per click bonus for FP/LXF if we follow the ad?
Can we take down M$ slowly by 1 cent per click? |

How would that take them down ?. It sounds more like a build up to me, small as it is.
