have you made any new years resolutions?? if are you sticking to them??
i have stopped drinking for my new years resolution, so that i can focus more on my training
i have had a drink on three separate occasions so far(the amount isn't really important) but from today i'm giving it another go <superman smilie> also i've been ill so i haven't been able to train

Don't believe in them. If there's anything I want to do/stop doing why wait until the New Year before starting/stopping? _________________ I have been touched by his noodly appendage. |

Have you already given up on the resolution about banging on about single package managers? _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

I successfully resolved, some years ago, to stop making New Year's Resolutions.
On the subject of non-New Year's Resolutions (oh dear, off topic already), how are we doing with our non-smokerness?
I'm beginning to feel almost normal. Assuming normal, obviously, is to spend three minutes coughing up tar and phlegm each morning. _________________ This signature has been produced using traditional writing methods on behalf of The Campaign For Real Slogans.

If it's that stressful writing for LXF, I certainly wouldn't want to be the editor |

I used to bite my nails, but for some reason, when I left home to go to university, I stopped. I wasn't even particularly aware of having stopped, I only noticed when one day I scratched my ear and drew blood. I can't imagine starting again.
Odd thing, the mind. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

Yes, NY resolutions are side steps really. But ... if accompanied by some form of very solum, sacrificial ritual, then it might have a chance at possessing some significance. The problem i have though, is that i'm not convinced that the new year actually starts there. A suspect it's been designed to distract from late'march.

Now there's an understatement, if there ever was one.
To divert:

This croped up on the back page of the 'Herald' over here, the other day.
A bit of a trick question ( of course ).
If you take a group pf Elvis impressionists, like those that are said to hang around Las Vagus at times --- What would the latinised plural be !, it isn't, of course, 'Elvi' or 'Elvii', but ... ... ? .
Seems they have been all wearing the wrong colour suit then.

The thing about the New Year, generally speaking, the majority of people living in the UK share it at the same time.
So there tend to be a lot more support networks at this time of year to help (thieve our money) us complete our goals. And our friends and families tend to be dieting, giving up smoking, joining gyms etc etc. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy in the end.
We could of course do all this stuff at any point in the year, but it's more likely you'll be doing it on your tod and perhaps then, less likely to succeed. _________________ I think, therefore I compile |
