Hi
I hope this is the right forum for this. I have every issue of the LXF since the inception, including Linux Answers. While I was learning Linux they helped me tremendously and I must have read them all at least three times.
They are getting rather bulky now and a lot of the info in the early issues is out of date. However before I ditch them I thought you might have some ideas
of other people or groups who could benefit from them.
So, if anyone interested my email address is graham.brogan@btinternet.com

I'm sure spam harvesters will be very interested in your e-mail address. I suggest you ask people to PM you, that's what the forum's PM system is for. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

Maybe that should've been mentioned in one of the magazines? _________________ This signature has been produced using traditional writing methods on behalf of The Campaign For Real Slogans.

Yes, it could be put under "Manual for using the forums", just to make sure no-one reads it.
As far as I know, there isn't a policy on these forums about posting your e-mail address in plain text (and thus easily harvestable) form, but on some boards it is forbidden. As you may have noticed, the e-mail link at the bottom of each message doesn't lead to anything if the user chooses to keep their address confidential.
Personally, I am against posting addresses so that they can be harvested, it only increases the amount of spam, by however small a degree for each additional case. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

Or another idea is to use my.name (at) SAYNOTOSPAM google.com or somesuch variant.
Or just get a Gmail account -- spam-free bliss

So Mike, is there an official forum policy on posting unobscured e-mail addresses? _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

No policy -- I think everyone who visits a Linux forum will be aware of spam risks and post accordingly.

| Baron: FWIW, there's a real shortage of particular issues of LXF. Most notably: Linux Answers, LXF6, LXF11, LXF20, LXF21 and LXF59. |

In that case phoneassure could do with having his account deleted as he's a repeat offender, I deleted some his posts last week. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |
