Well, spread the word.
I give Ubuntu CDs to customers who express an interest, I have installed Openoffice on customers's computers where they do not have an office suite, Gimp where they do not have an image tool, etc.
The best way to spread the open source ethos is to give things to people. Once they start using it, they're hooked. _________________ The sig between the asterisks is so cool that only REALLY COOL people can even see it!

Sorry, too late for that. I had someone who needed their system rebuilt and lost all their old Windows 95 discs, they swore they couldn't use this Linux thing, so I load a copy of PCLinux OS with the splash screen amended. I told them it was a special later edition of Win 98, it looked enough like their old Windows, so they went with it. They tell people they have Win 98LX.
Hey, it works and I avoided any discussion on pirate software or a fight about Linux, sue me. _________________ Deadly Ernest

| Ah, so what happens when he sticks the windows game cd/dvd in? I rather not use such an approach. Then again, when he/she see's the special win 98LX not working as expected... |

They don't play games, so it's not a worry. Only usage is word processing, email, and Internet surfing, with the odd bit of voice chat. Not a game in the house. _________________ Deadly Ernest

i replaced the hd on a friends second hand pc because he had no xp disc, i put mandriva on and it ran briliantly but his wife could only play her scrabble game with wine so in the end he bought an official copy of xp to use instead
so he spent about £100 just so she could play scrabble he even said xp is nowhere near as fast

I think he'd have been cheaper to buy her a new Linux version of the game. _________________ Deadly Ernest

| If the fish had been a real "friend" he would have downloaded and installed something like ProScrabble v1.0 to run on the Linux installation. |
