I would like to learn to programme, probably C++ (but only becuase whoever I talk to says this is a good place to start). Are there any distance learning courses that anybody would recommend? Locally there doesn't appear to be much training beyond 'how to use Powerpoint' etc. Failing that what books would you recommended?
I am also considering a career change, or at least a slight change in direction, and programming is one option. Are there any certifications etc that are worth obtaining? Again can these be gained via distance learning?
