Somewhat behind schedule, we have the latest release of Xorg. It should be coming to the next release of your favourite distro soon (assuming your favourite distro is making a release soon). Phoronix have their typically technical summary of the release.
It would be nice to be able to read between the lines well enough to understand what it means to simple, humble peasant users such as myself. I understand that there is better support for Intel chipsets, but that's about it.
